Tempest Brightshadow Played by: Nikki Profession: Swordswoman and Jedi Homeworld: Ricalia Race: Ricalian (near-human) Age: 18 Hair: Short, tousled, silver white Build: Thin and athletic; pointed ears Usual clothing: Warrior's tunic and pants Weapon: Sword, later a lightsaber Basic skills: Advanced swordsmanship, some basic Force skills (unusual training); later becomes a full Jedi. Also an accomplished singer. Pictures: First picture below is from a video game called Ys; second was drawn by Elfie. Tempest Brightshadow (221x302, 33K) More Tempest! (275x707, 49K) Personality and background: Tempest is a warrior, an emotionally charged person with initiative, drive, and a strong sense of purpose. Taught from an early age in the art of swordfighting, she has learned to keep her emotions in check and to be in control of herself and her actions. Throughout her life, however, she has battled against her darkest secret: a Dark Streak. The forces of good and evil rage within her, and she has been prophecied to be both savior and destroyer. Despite this, Tempest is still a fun-loving, enthusiastic, eager young woman, full of hope and optimism, and she is, above all, a true friend. |

Kella Rhonan (147x232, 23K) Older Kella (199x233, 24K) More Kella (245x260, 36K) Kella comforting someone (199x270, 19K) Personality and background: Kella has been Tempest's best friend for nearly ten years now, and even though their walks in life are vastly different, they have remained close—possibly because they complement each other so well. Like Tempest, Kella has a yearning to know what lies beyond the stars, to see things no one in her world ever has. She loves music and beauty. But above all, Kella's passion is healing. She fears the darkness that plagues her world, and while she fears Tempest's Dark Streak, she has come to terms with it. Her way of battling this darkness is to heal, to try to mend the harm that the evil has done. In her own way, she uses her healing to fight the dark Hederon creatures of Ricalia. Deep down inside, Kella's greatest fear is that somehow the darkness might find a way within herself, no matter how pure her heart is... |

Pictures: Pic is from a book cover; can't remember which one ^_^;; Kev Zerellan (273x257, 36K) Personality and background: Kev, an engineering student at the academy in Tempest's and Kella's hometown, has been friends with the girls for several years now. A daydreamer, he tends to get caught up in his fancies of the world beyond the stars, coming up with wild plans of how someday he's going to travel there. He's a bit overconfident about his engineering skills, but it's balanced a bit by the fact that he wishes he were a better pilot. Kev would dearly love to know that there is a whole galaxy out there, vindicating his beliefs in the potential of technology and the infinity of the stars...but is he ready for the truth he will find, the new worlds he may visit...and the evil he may end up confronting? |

Phoenix Sureshot Played by: Elfie Profession: Explorer, wannabe Jedi Homeworld: ? Race: Human Age: ? Hair: Auburn Eyes: Emerald green Build: Really small and short, but athletic Usual clothing: Flashy clothes Weapon: Blaster Basic skills: Excellent pilot, decent fighter Pictures: None Personality and background: When Phoenix was young, she was on Shrike's ship (someone from the books, I presume) with Han Solo. Phoenix (or Elora, as she was known back then) was a very savvy 10-year-old when Han left the ship, with a major hero-worship complex for Han. She was employed doing begging work for Shrike, but she didn't like it much. In any case, Shrike sold her as a slave soon after Han left. (He didn't like her much, either.) Her master was nasty and cruel, and he beat her. One night, after a particularly bad beating, which nearly killed her, Elora decided she would rather die than continue this way. So, she ran away. Well, crawled away. She wasn't in very good shape. Elora didn't get far before she collapsed, but she was out of hearing range and her "master" wouldn't be awake for a while. This is where Tek found her. He nursed her back to health, and they've been together ever since, though it took Tek a long time to get Elora to trust him. She wouldn't even tell him her real name, so he named her Phoenix. Tek is convinced that Phoenix has heavy-duty Force powers, but she's really low on the scale. What Phoenix has is phenomenal luck and a keen aim with a blaster. Han actually taught her that bit—she had a hankering to learn from the time she was around six or seven, and he taught her. Hero worship again. ^_^ Phoenix and Tek ran into our heroes and gave them a lift at some point, taking them to the Jedi Academy. They have since continued on their travels, but they may show up again. |

Usual clothing: His idea of Jedi robes Weapon: A lightsaber he found Basic skills: Umm...extreme luck? ^_^;; Perhaps some small Force ability. Pictures: I drew this pic of Tek, though Elfie says it really doesn't look like him. =P Oh well. Tek Yew (350x342, 43K) Personality and background: Tek Yew is the son of a Jedi Knight who was killed in the Clone Wars. He has always dreamed of being a Jedi like his father was, but he's not incredibly good at it. He IS strong in the Force, but his ability to use the Force, at least intentionally, is blocked. No one knows exactly why this is; it could have something to do with his very structured upbringing as a noble. He's also rather clumsy, but he means well, and he has a nobleman's weakness for a damsel in distress. He has a firm belief that he is a Jedi Master, and that it is his mission to go about, seeking others with Force potential and training them. He's also got his dad's old lightsaber. Nice guy, but very delusional. In any case, it is during his "mission" that he comes upon Elora, who is unconcious. He took her back to his ship (with rich parents, he has a nice ship) and, with the help of a med droid, nursed her back to health. Afterwards, believing in Elora's mythical Force powers, he decided to "train" her, and they have traveled together ever since. |

Nekoi Kishuu (263x331, 23K) More Nekoi (225x333, 18K) Personality and background: Nekoi's race is a cruel, hard one; Nekoi herself is unusual, in that she sometimes feels softer emotions than anger, hate, and fear. Most others of her kind follow a kill-or-be-killed philosophy. One day Nekoi told her mother she loved her, and her mother beat her as punishment. For one reason or another, Nekoi's mother eventually sold her to slavers. Somehow or other Nekoi's adventures led her to stow away in the hold of an Imperial ship, the very same one Tempest and her friends stole. With them, Nekoi discovered true friendship, but she also ran afoul of the Dark Jedi chasing them. Nekoi, struggling with the natural darkness in her own heart, has gone over to the Dark Side once, repented, and then gone over again. No one is certain why she turned the second time; she was at the Jedi Academy, and then she was gone, leaving only a discouraging note behind. It may be frustrated love, self-hatred, any number of things—but nevertheless, Nekoi's friends still care about her and hope to bring her back to the light someday. |

Unlike many other sith, Sangran is not allied with Ebannaw, ruler of the New Empire. While the Emperor plans to bring the Empire back to its former glory and achieve total control over the galaxy, Sangran has his own plans. Some time back, Kella did something that upset Sangran, and now he wants revenge. He also seems to know something about Kella, something that drives him to follow closely on her trail. Kella and her friends were prisoners of his for a time, and Sangran tried to turn Kella to evil, but she held out and finally managed to escape. She may not be so lucky next time... |

When Sangran Vode boarded soon after the encounter with Tempest and her friends, Sangran and Trindion had a vicious Force battle. Trindion lost, and Sangran convinced him that the wisest course would be to join forces with the Lord of the Sith; Trindion believed he was most likely to become more powerful than the Emperor, in the end. |

Jethana Iverin (200x307, 30K) Personality and background: An officer under Captain Balikura, Jethana Iverin has a great deal of drive and ambition, as well as a willingness to work hard and do what it takes to succeed. She is calm and composed and good at both giving and taking orders. It is said that when aroused, her temper is furious, but so far none can attest to the truth of this statement. During Balikura's increasingly continuous absences, the two Dark Jedi who have taken command of the ship have been giving Jethana more and more responsibilities. |

Appearance: Muscular build Usual clothing: Stormtrooper uniform, or whatever's on hand Weapon: Blaster Basic skills: Hand fighting and blaster combat Pictures: None yet Personality and background: Derwyren is a simple young man, not the brightest by far, but kind and friendly and with a certain amount of plain old common sense. His planet is currently occupied by the New Empire, which invaded and took many families prisoner, including Derwyren's. Derwyren was conscripted by the Empire, using his family's safety as leverage to convince him to cooperate. He served as a low-ranking Stormtrooper for a few months, until the New Empire's injustices became more than he could stomach, and he deserted. Tempest, Kella, and their friends helped rescue him immediately after his desertion, as he was running from the Stormtroopers who were on his tail. Derwyren now travels with our other heroes, hoping he can find a way to free his family and end the New Empire's power. |
