Adventure Peaks: Roleplaying Storylines

Rising against the eternally bright, distant sky of the Dreamworld are a range of incredibly tall mountains, their peaks capped with glittering snow that shines like silver in the changing sunshine and moonlight. Only the bravest dare scale these mountains, known to most as the Adventure Peaks. If you are in search of a quest, a dramatic story of which you want to be a part, the Adventure Peaks are the perfect place to find what you are looking for! But be careful...not only beauty, but danger and excitement await among these slopes!

I began writing stories as soon as I learned to write, and throughout the years, I've built up quite a collection of characters. So it was only natural, when I first began roleplaying in Rivendell, that my first characters were originally from stories I had written—particularly my most well-known, and my alter ego, Ariana Dreamstar. Sometimes an entire storyline grows around these characters and their worlds, and sometimes a Riv storyline inspires me to write a new story. So you can see that my roleplaying and writing are very intertwined! The Dreamworld Saga

The Dreamworld Saga storyline first began in about 1998. I first brought Ariana Dreamstar into Riv in 1997, and gradually an entire storyline grew around her role as Guardian of the Dreamworld and her fight against the evil Lord of Nightmares. This website has long been dedicated to the Rivendell storyline, and here you can read the full story of everything that happened in The Dreamworld Saga, descriptions of the major characters, and profiles of the real-life people who created and played those characters. The storyline inspired me to revive and rewrite my novel, so even though the roleplay is on indefinite hold, you haven't seen the last of Ariana and her friends! The Waverunner Chronicles

The Waverunner Chronicles is another storyline inspired by an original world that I dreamed up. This storyline is best described as a prequel to the events of my original story, a projected two-novel set I had worked on and abandoned some years before, which I now plan to revive and rewrite. The Waverunner Chronicles follow the story of three newly invested members of the Waverunners, the elite fighting force and royal guard of Waterlight, a beautiful kingdom that encompasses both land and sea. Humans walk the land, mermaids swim in the cool waters, and hostile dwarves inhabit the icy mountains to the north. The Treasure Hunters

The Treasure Hunters is an entirely original storyline, not even modeled after one of my stories. It began when one of the players in The Dreamworld Saga, Ryan, showed me a piece of artwork he'd done and asked if I would create a character from the picture, with the name Alys Galsen. Alys became briefly involved in DWS, but after her part was finished there, she teamed up with Ryan's character Xander, and The Treasure Hunters was born! Alys and Xander find themselves in possession of a map leading to the mystical Crystal Sword, and soon they are in a frantic race with the Stormseekers, a guild of thieves and fortune hunters, to get to the artifact first. Unlike many other Rivendell storylines, good and evil aren't so clearly defined here—even the "good guys" have a bit of a shady background. So the story definitely has a different twist, leading to much more interesting RP! The storyline was cut off soon after it was begun, more's the pity, but Alys is still around! Star Wars:
Parallel Crossroads

Star Wars: Parallel Crossroads has an interesting history. After first hearing about my friend Nikki's Star Wars fanfic, I created Kella, best friend of her main character, Tempest. Elfie got involved too, and I stopped working on the story for a while, Nikki has continued to revise and rewrite. Several roleplayers in Riv are big fans of Star Wars, so one day I dragged Nikkie in and we started this RP! Nikki is really in charge of the whole story, but since she's not a regular in Riv and the others know me better, they all decided I would GM. The story was on hold for a while, but it is now starting up again over email! Star Wars:
Vaniki and the Skywalkers

Star Wars: Vaniki and the Skywalkers is actually a storyline Meof started, which he GMed until he didn't have time to RP anymore and it was put on indefinite hold. Myrthan and Jonack Skywalker, Luke Skywalker's twin sons, were given a special task by the Jedi Council and immediately afterward ran into Vaniki Shera. Vaniki had been sent as envoy by her father, king of the planet Kairen, to request the twins' aid. Their planet was plagued by mysterious "dark circles," and the king of Kairen hoped that these famous twins, both strong in the Force, might be able to help. The twins, on their way to carry out the Council's wishes, agreed that they had time for a slight detour. But they did not expect what they would find on Kairen, and Vaniki herself has secrets as well.
